Alan McIlvain Company Purchases 10 Million Board Feet

Lan McIlvain is the president of Alan McIlvain Company, located in Marcus Hook, PA. Alan McIlvain is a hardwood distributor and moulding manufacturer that buys 10 million board feet of lumber annually in most domestic and imported species. The company offers custom mouldings, S4S, priming, rip 2 edges, surfacing and resawing, as well as width and grade sorted lumber.

McIlvain started working summers for the company while he was in high school. He has been with the company for 25 years and has been the president for nine. After high school, McIlvain went on to Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He also graduated from NHLA inspector training school in Memphis, TN.

In his spare time, McIlvain enjoys woodworking, hunting, fishing and sailing. He has been married to his wife Gretchen McIlvain for 15 years and has one son.

Alan McIlvain Company is a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association, Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association, Keystone Kiln Drying Association, International Wood Products Association, Hardwood Distributors Association, Appalachian Lumbermen’s Club, Hardwood Manufacturers Association and Penn York’s Lumbermen’s Club.

Kendrick Inc: Three Divisions And Diverse Products

Matt Yest

Matt Yest is the lumber sales manager for Kendrick Forest Products located in Edgewood, IA.

Kendrick Forest Products operates two sawmills in Iowa producing in excess of 16 million board feet of hardwood lumber annually. They saw a variety of species including Cherry, Hickory, Hard and Soft Maple, Elm and Red Oak while specializing in kiln-dried Walnut and White Oak in both 4/4 and 5/4 thickness.

They offer green lumber, industrial hardwood products, and kiln dried lumber, both rough and surfaced. Kendrick Forest Products offers standard NHLA grade lumber, customer specific proprietary sorts and custom ripped lumber that is sold throughout the United States and exported all over the world.

Yest is a native of Wisconsin and graduated from Waupaca High School. For the past 23 years, he has worked in the forest products industry. After graduating from the 139th class of the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) inspection school in Memphis, TN, Yest got started in the industry as a lumber inspector. He has been with Kendrick Forest Products the past 15 years in lumber sales, handling both green and kiln-dried lumber.

He enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He and his wife Rachelle have been married for 17 years and they have two daughters. Yest has served as the president of the American Walnut Manufacturers Association (AWMA) and is currently the vice president of the Wood Component Manufacturers Association (WCMA).

Kendrick Forest Products is also a member of the NHLA, AWMA, WCMA, Lake States Lumber Association, the Hardwood Manufacturers Association and the Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association.

Robinson Lumber : Providing Quality Lumber For 133 Years

Steve Stoufflet

Steve Stoufflet is the Hardwood Lumber Sales Manager for North America at Robinson Lumber Company, based in New Orleans, LA.

Founded in 1893, Robinson Lumber recently completed renovations on its concentration yard in New Albany, IN, installing six new kilns and doubling its kiln drying capacity. In Indiana, they specialize in width-sorted White Oak and Hickory and offer ripped strips and surfacing. Through its Wholesale divisions, they sell domestic and imported hardwoods, Southern Yellow Pine, and decking worldwide. Robinson has sourcing offices in Mobile, AL, Brazil and Belgium.

Robinson Lumber is a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association, International Wood Products Association, Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association Inc., American Hardwood Export Council, National Wood Flooring Association and is FSC Certified.

Stoufflet has been with Robinson Lumber for 42 years. He started his career at the New Orleans concentration yard and quickly moved into sales and management roles. He has traveled extensively throughout North and South America. He is knowledgeable about the Hardwood Lumber industry, with vast experience in imported hardwoods and White Oak, according to a Robinson Lumber Company spokesperson. Stoufflet attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, LA.

Stoufflet and his wife Sherri enjoy the beach, attending sporting events, music festivals and concerts. They have four children—two sons and two daughters—and a newly added granddaughter.
