Searsmont, ME—Robbins Lumber, Inc., located here, has promoted its planer mill manager to an inside sales position and has named a new planer mill manager to succeed him.

Jason Fuller, the new inside salesman, has worked for Robbins Lumber since 1991, the last 10 years as the planer mill manager. Before the mill manager position, he worked as dressed lumber grader for 25 years, remanufacturing manager, safety manager, quality manager and a road sales position.

Outside of work, Fuller enjoys spending time with his family, especially by going on ATV rides with his wife, Patricia, and their two children, Aaron and Sarah. He and his wife also like to go for motorcycle rides either along the coast or in the western mountains of Maine.

Rodney Williams, the new planer mill manager, has worked in the Pine industry for 26 consecutive years. He has run most equipment in sawmills, has been a grader, a head saw filer and a sawmill manager. He also worked briefly in retail-management but preferred working in mills.

In his free time, Williams enjoys snowmobiling, hunting, ATV, boating and fishing – all with his wife of 27 years, a son, a daughter and a grandson.

Meanwhile, Robbins Lumber recently installed a new profile sander in its ever-expanding pre-coating facility. The sander is a Makor LPI5 five-headed profile sander and is the latest addition to the new vacuum coat UV cure line installed in mid-2020. With two calibrating heads followed by one pad for the top, the equipment is designed to achieve an unsurpassed finish on the top surface of the V-matched paneling, according to Robbins Lumber. Robbins also installed two profile heads to hit the V’s on the paneling to give the entire exposed face the perfect sanding job just prior to getting coated, according to the company.
