Boise Cascade Announces New Executive VP and New Door Shop in Houston 1

Boise, ID–Boise Cascade Company, headquartered here, recently announced that Jeff Strom has been named executive vice president of the company’s Building Materials Distribution (BMD) business. He assumes the role that has been held by Nick Stokes, who has elected to retire on March 12, 2021, with 42 years of service. 

Strom will assume his new responsibilities effective March 12, 2021. He joined Boise Cascade in 2006 in a sales position and became a branch manager in Milton, FL. He currently serves as vice president and general manager of BMD’s Eastern Region, based in Boise, ID. Strom has nearly 30 years of industry experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

“I extend my sincere appreciation to Nick for his four decades of service and wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement. I also offer a hearty congratulations to Jeff on his new role and responsibilities,” said Nate Jorgensen, Boise Cascade CEO. “We have been intentionally planning for this succession. The continuity of leadership enables us to continue to live our values and successfully serve our customers, suppliers and shareholders into the future.” 

Boise Cascade also announced the opening of a new door shop in the Houston market. The 160,000 square-foot facility will serve approximately 900 customers from the BMD’s Houston Distribution Center. This new shop will assemble Therma-Tru exterior doors and offer PrismaGuard premium stain and paint finishing options, along with Therma-Tru Composite Frames featuring Tru-Guard™ Composite Technology. It will also offer Simpson high quality wood entry and interior pre-hung door units. Boise Cascade expects to start producing doors in the 3rd quarter of 2021.
