Aaron Schulte

Aaron Schulte is the chief operating officer for Hancock Lumber, located in Casco, Maine. Hancock Lumber is an Eastern White Pine manufacturer, producing 120 million board feet of lumber annually for sale into the domestic and export markets. Hancock manufactures in both NeLMA and proprietary grades, primarily in 4/4 thickness, but with the ability to also cut thick or custom sizes.

Hancock offers lumber at a moisture content of 10-12 percent in pattern profiles, multiple surface textures, D4S, custom milling, end match profiles, pre-finished Pine, pre-primed solid and finger-joint, bevel, clean band sawn, custom packaging, and custom cuts to fit their customers’ needs.

Schulte attended Georges P. Vanier Secondary School in Courtenay, BC, then went on to continue his education at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry with a minor in commerce.

A 16-year veteran in the forest products industry, Aaron got his start at a custom remanufacturing facility working with Western Red Cedar. He has been with Hancock Lumber for 11 years and held the role of COO for the past three years. Throughout his time in the industry, he has gained experience in harvest planning and layout, Western Red Cedar manufacturing in British Columbia, and Douglas Fir and Hemlock stud manufacturing in Oregon. The work at Hancock Lumber presents a variety of opportunities for growth and new learning experiences which Aaron thrives on and looks forward to engaging with each week.

Glen Ross

Glen Ross specializes in Mill Sales for Idaho Timber Corporation, working out of their Lake City, Florida location trading dimension and stud lumber. Ross is also the national account representative for all buying groups and co-ops that Idaho Timber services nationwide. Along with sales responsibilities Ross conducts sales training and sales support for Idaho Timber’s eight manufacturing facilities across the country.

Idaho Timber has the capacity to manufacture over 800 million board feet per year of Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas Fir, Hem-Fir, Ponderosa Pine and Southern Yellow Pine kiln-dried and S4S lumber and boards. 2×4 through 2×12, 8 to 20-foot dimension lumber is available in No. 2, Stud and No. 3 grades. Also offered are pattern stock, radius-edge decking, fencing, custom manufacturing, Premium European Spruce, custom packaging and container material, truck and rail shipment.

Unique products and services include highly specialized mixed loads, jobsite-direct delivery, just-in-time delivery, custom lengths, proprietary grading and all 2×4 and 2×6 studs in both standard and custom precision end trims.

Ross’ father was a general contractor in South Florida, so he had exposure to the building materials industry from a young age. Ross attended American Heritage High School, located in Plantation, FL, and then went on to serve 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. Upon completing his time in the Marine Corps, in March 2001, Ross joined Idaho Timber and has remained for the past 23 years.

Idaho Timber is a member of the North American Wholesale Lumber Association, Idaho Forest Products Commission, and The American Wood Council.

In his spare time, Ross enjoys travel, camping, attending Scottish Highland Games, spending time with family and working on his land. Ross is married to his wife Shelbi, they have four children, and one grandchild!

Kelly G. Park, CSP

Kelly G. Park, CSP recently joined Continental Underwriters, Inc., located in Richmond VA, as a senior risk assessment representative. Continental Underwriters works with their clients to identify risk, control risk and protect assets, enabling their clients to produce their products and services successfully.

Park has been in the insurance industry as a safety consultant for 35 years. He has worked for and with multi-line carriers, self-insured group programs, brokers, TPAs and captives. While Park has worked with various industries throughout his career, the forest products industry is one that he has worked with closely. Park has successfully led risk management programs for the Tennessee Forestry Association Workers Compensation Program and the Kentucky Forest Industries Workers Compensation Program.

Park graduated from Murray State University, located in Murray, KY, in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health. Park is also a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

Park is married to Kelly E. Park. In his spare time, Park enjoys golf and home projects, as well as spending time with family and friends. He is also the author of When the Pros Played on the Sandlot, Volume 1 and 2.

Park is a member, and the former president, of the American Society of Safety Professionals. He is also a member of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and a county board member of the Kentucky Farm Bureau.

Kirk Forbes

Kirk Forbes is President and CEO of Brunette Machinery Co. Inc., headquartered in Surrey, BC. Brunette Machinery has supplied high-performance machinery to wood processing facilities for over 80 years. Brunette sells its products in North America, with its largest market being the southeastern United States, followed by the Pacific Northwest and other parts of Canada.

Brunette’s most successful product line is the Drum Chipper for sawmill residuals, lily pads, veneer and wood waste material. Brunette Chipper models include the Drop Feed, the 4840 Horizontal and the 6040 Whole Log.
