Chris Gahm is the purchasingagent for Kitchen Kompact Inc., located in Jeffersonville, IN.

Kitchen Kompact purchases approximately 6 million board feet per year of Red Oak and Beech (No. 1 and 2 Common, 6-8 percent dryness, surfaced) to manufacture kitchen cabinets. The company offers various styles including Glenwood Beech, Warmwood, D-White, and Chadwood.

Among its value-added services, the company offers cabinet assembly and finishing.

Gahm has been involved at Kitchen Kompact for 25 years. This is his first position in the forest products industry. He handles the purchase of supplies and materials for cabinet production. He graduated from Saint Xavier High School, Louisville, KY, in 1991, then attended Centre College, Danville, KY, until 1995 when he graduated. Kitchen Kompact is a member of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association.

Sam Damiani is Sales Manager at Mason’s Mill & Lumber, located in Houston, TX. Damiani is also responsible for specialty products purchasing, including thermally modified woods and Hardwood decking lines. Mason’s Mill is a full-service Hardwood distributor and custom millwork manufacturer and runs their own fleet of trucks, servicing all of southeast and central Texas. Mason’s Mill purchases over 3,000,000 board feet of domestic and imported Hardwoods and softwoods annually.

Mason’s Mill stocks most domestic species and several import species in FAS and premium grades and all thicknesses, as well as several species of tropical Hardwood decking and thermally modified wood products. Mason’s Mill offers extensive milling services and milled products, including straight and curved moulding, as well as siding, cladding, flooring and decking. Mason’s Mill maintains membership in several organizations, including the National Hardwood Lumber Association, Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen’s Association, Greater Houston Builders Association and Architectural Woodworkers Institute.

Damiani has been with Mason’s Mill for 16 years, having served as sales manager for the last six years. Damiani started out in various warehouse roles before advancing into sales for the company. He’s also instrumental in networking with architects and designers to promote products and services that Mason’s Mill offers. Prior to his career with Mason’s Mill & Lumber, Damiani worked in the timber framing industry during summer breaks from college. He attended high school and Eastern University in Pennsylvania.

In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Ashley, have three sons and two daughters.

Ron Sauer is owner of Excelsior Wood Products, located in Kingston, NY.

Excelsior Wood Products manufactures Hardwood flooring, S4S mouldings, components and tables. The company purchases approximately 125,000 board feet annually of various domestic Hardwood species, including White Oak, Walnut and Maple (No. 1 Common, FAS, 4/4 through 8/4, kiln-dried and Rough).

Value-added services offered by Excelsior Wood Products include: finished flooring, machining, nationwide delivery, site visitation, consultation and custom milling. Sauer has owned Excelsior Wood Products for 18 years and is a graduate of Kingston High School, located in Kingston. He and his wife, Christina, have three daughters. In his spare time he enjoys hunting and trap shooting.
