Strong Roots, Global Reach - 2025 NHLA Convention Showcases Strength And Unity Of  The Hardwood Industry  1

The 2025 NHLA Annual Convention & Exhibit Showcase recently united more than 700 hardwood industry professionals from across North America and around the world for three days of learning, networking, and collaboration in San Antonio, Texas. Held at the Marriott Rivercenter, the event highlighted the industry’s adaptability, innovation, and shared commitment to progress.

The Exhibit Showcase served as the convention’s energetic hub, where sawmills, manufacturers, exporters and suppliers exchanged ideas and discovered the latest tools shaping the future of hardwood. Educational sessions provided timely, actionable insights on trade, operations, finance and sustainability.

Strong Roots

Highlights included “Reducing Risks & Insurance Costs” with Emily Glanz and Kevin Mershimer; “Strong Roots, Stronger Growth” with Ryan Walter and Dallin Brooks; “Market Trends & Impacts” with Andy Johnson; and the “EUDR Update & Export Overview” with Mike Snow and Rupert Oliver of AHEC. Keynote speaker Taylor St. Germain delivered an engaging economic outlook, forecasting steady growth, easing inflation, and renewed optimism for manufacturing and housing—providing data-driven guidance for businesses preparing for 2026 and beyond.

Networking remained central to the convention’s success. Attendees connected through memorable special events such as the ITSEF Golf Classic, Welcome Reception at The Espee, Inspector Training School Alumni Reception, Western Night, and the Exhibit Showcase Grand Finale. Each event fostered camaraderie and underscored NHLA’s mission to unite and strengthen the hardwood community.
