Ron Jones Hosts Penn-York; Club Now Sets Sights On September Meeting

Reno, PA– Wanango Country Club, located here, was the host venue for a recent monthly meeting of the Penn-York Lumbermen’s Club.

Hosted by Ron Jones Hardwood Sales Inc., the meeting featured networking, a golf game and sporting clays prior to dinner. Eighty guests were in attendance with 11 participating in the sporting clays and 39 competed in the golf game.

Skills prize winners were:

#5 Closest to the Pin, was a tie at 1-1/2 feet by John Pysh and Rob Matson

#10 Closest to the Pin, Marty James

#2 Longest Putt, Matthew Lowry

#4 Closest 2nd shot, Mike DeAngelo

#18 Longest Drive, Jack Monnoyer

Low Gross 1st and 2nd, Marty James 80 and Don Fetzer 81

Sporting Clay winners were:

First Place, Scott Silvis

Second Place, Tom Edwards

Third Place, Ian Fulton

Guest speaker at the dinner was Stephen Zambo, president of Ally Global Logistics LLC of Weymouth, MA and Jacksonville, FL. He spoke about the current state of Export Container logistics for lumber and logs. Additionally, he discussed the disruptions in bookings, available containers and equipment. Other topics covered were port congestions and about future trends.
