Maximus Building Supply Acquires Brighton Lumber Co.

Maximus Building Supply headquartered in Collierville, TN, has successfully acquired Brighton Lumber Co., a lumberyard located in Brighton, TN. The acquisition was completed from Oneal Tankersley, who has been the owner and manager of Brighton Lumber Co. for the past 17 years. The business fully reopened its doors on August 1st under the new identity of Maximus Building Supply.

Serving the Mid-South, North Mississippi, and Oxford regions since 1984, Maximus Building Supply now operates four comprehensive lumberyards, evenly distributed between Tennessee and Mississippi. Additionally, the company operates a dedicated door and trim shop situated in Olive Branch, MS. They offer a variety of options for framing lumber, siding, house wrap, roofing and specialty woods.

Richard Cooper, the President of Maximus Building Supply, shared his excitement about the opportunity to include Brighton Lumber Co. within their operations. West Coast Lumber Acquires Stone Truss

West Coast Lumber (WCL), a San Diego based lumber and building materials supplier, has announced its acquisition of Stone Truss, a well-established designer and manufacturer of roof and floor truss systems. This acquisition follows WCL’s recent hiring of Jason Walsh as Vice President of Component Manufacturing.

Stone Truss, located in San Diego, has been creating truss systems for 30 years, customizing designs for residential and commercial construction. Stone Truss will continue its operations from its manufacturing facility in North San Diego County with plans to increase production capacity at the facility.

WCL’s move into acquiring Stone Truss marks its entry into manufacturing structural components. WCL operates across several California locations, including Agoura Hills, Bakersfield, Camarillo, and San Diego.

Stone Truss founders Richard Thomas and Charlie Signorino will remain actively involved in the company, ensuring a seamless transition for customers and employees. The integration also offers Stone Truss employees the prospect of benefiting from WCL’s people-focused practices, including its employee equity plan.

Nations Best Acquires Cain Hardware And Lumber

Nation’s Best Holdings, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, has acquired Cain Hardware & Lumber in Carthage, Texas. This addition brings Nation’s Best Holdings’ Texas locations to a total of 19.

Founded in 1974, Cain Hardware & Lumber is a prominent home center known for its fully stocked lumberyard, comprehensive hardlines assortment, and the region’s largest paint store.

Nations Best Holdings, founded in 2019, is a home improvement and building materials retailer operating 49 locations across 14 states. Recently the company also acquired B & S Hardware & Lumber, which has stores in Gilmer and Pittsburg, Texas.

Cain Hardware & Lumber will maintain its name and team within Nation’s Best Holdings, allowing for enhanced offerings backed by their operational support.

OrePac Adding Millwork Plant

OrePac Building Products, based in Wilsonville, OR has acquired a 40-acre facility spanning 130,000 square feet near Roseburg, Oregon. The facility will be dedicated to manufacturing moulding and millwork products.

Operating across the western U.S. with 10 branches, OrePac is recognized for fabricating, assembling, and distributing door and building components. This investment represents the supplier’s first significant greenfield venture into manufacturing capacity for the region.

As a part of this initiative, OrePac will establish Pacific Manufacturing & Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary responsible for overseeing the facility. The new plant is projected to commence operations in early 2024, potentially employing up to 50 individuals.

R.P. Lumber Acquiring Wright Building Center Location

R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. has expanded its reach with the acquisition of Wright Building Center’s Sparta, IL location. The collaboration was recently official and was finalized in early September. The Sparta location of Wright Building Center will transition to operating as R.P. Lumber shortly after Labor Day.

Headquartered in Edwardsville, IL, R.P. Lumber currently runs 82 locations across Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and its home state. Apart from this extensive network, R.P. Lumber also operates two truss manufacturing sites and provides e-commerce options for customers.

In addition to providing lumber, shingles, siding, and drywall, R.P. Lumber’s recent acquisition in Sparta will introduce a diverse range of hardware merchandise. This assortment will encompass power tools, paint, plumbing essentials, and electrical supplies. Furthermore, a skilled design team will focus on creating designs for a wide array of projects, ranging from decks and patios to cabinets and countertops in kitchens and bathrooms.
