Qingdao, Shandong, China, has become one of the strongest markets in China for American hardwood lumber products. For the first time, the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) recently hosted a U.S. Hardwood Pavilion at Qingdao International Furniture Fair (QIFF) 2025 to provide companies a direct networking opportunity in this active city. The event was held at Qingdao World Expo City International Exhibition Center. Seventeen AHEC members were at QIFF. Eight participated in the AHEC pavilion.

Traditionally, the solid wood furniture industry in the north has developed rapidly and has obvious advantages. At the Qingdao International Furniture Fair, nearly 500 outstanding brands from the northern solid wood furniture manufacturing circle participated, perfectly showcasing the latest achievements in innovative design and quality improvement.

Qingdao International Furniture Fair, the Qilu Home Design Week–Whole Home Customization and Lifestyle Exhibition, Qingdao International Woodworking Machinery and Raw and Auxiliary Materials Exhibition are professional trade exhibitions jointly organized by the Shandong Furniture Association and Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association. These focus on large home furnishings and upstream/downstream industrial chains as the main content of professional trade exhibitions. These include solid wood, software, customization, office, machinery, materials, white stubble, intelligence, original design and other rich themes.

Every year, more than 1,500 home furnishing and upstream/downstream enterprises in the industrial chain participate in the exhibition, with a total exhibition scale of 180,000 square meters, and more than 170,000 professional visitors (dealers, designers, decoration companies, e-commerce, traders and other omni-channel buyers), becoming a powerful engine for channel development and brand promotion for northern large home furnishing enterprises.
