Barnes Joins Tropical Forest Products Team

Mississauga, Ontario– Matt Barnes recently began working as a sales representative in U.S. sales for Tropical Forest Products, based here. Barnes, who brings knowledge of Ipe and other tropical hardwood deckings and composite deckings, is based in Baltimore, MD.

He has worked in the forest products industry for 27 years, including 15 years trading commodities for Weyerhaeuser and working for J. Gibson McIlvain Lumber. He learned the lumber business through his father working more than 50 years for Kelleher Lumber Co. in California.

Barnes is a former U.S. Marine. He and his wife, Elizabeth, who have been married for nearly 25 years, have five children and five dogs. In his free time, Barnes enjoys hiking and taking care of his family. His daughter wants to be a park ranger, which makes Barnes happy.
