AHEC Joins Vietnam Wood In Making A Big Comeback; Plans For An Even Bigger Fair In 2023

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) hosted a U.S. pavilion recently at the 2022 Vietnam International Woodworking Industry Fair (Vietnam Wood 2022), which was held here and took place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center. The Vice President of the Handicraft and Wood Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), Nguyen Chanh Phuong, said that Vietnam Wood 2022 was expected to have 250 exhibitors from 25 countries and territories gather to display their optimal manufacturing production solutions. Canada, France, Germany and Russia were expected to run pavilions at the fair, which showcased the global value of the woodworking industry. Nearly 9,000 professional visitors and buyers came to attend and catch-up with the Vietnam market and industry trends.

Vietnam Wood aimed to promote technological transformation in the wood processing industry of Vietnam. The fair was both virtual and in person, and was held alongside the Vietnam International Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Tool Exhibition (Furnitec).

A series of seminars was organized, where the speakers shared their expertise in a variety of fields including, technology transformation, automation trends for the industry, smart solutions for the wood industry in the digital era and wood material application in interior design.

Vietnam Wood was jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry & Trade, Vinexad National Trade Fair & Advertising J.S.C. (VINEXAD) and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd. (YORKERS) and co-organized by the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA). This was the first fair endorsed by the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS) from the past two decades in Vietnam.

Vietnam Wood 2023 will be held September 20-23.
