Mendocino Family of Companies Announces Organizational Changes

Santa Rosa, CA–The Mendocino Family of Companies has announced immediate organizational changes focused on strengthening the company over the long term.

Dean Kerstetter assumes responsibility for all operations in the sawmills, treating plants, and distribution centers.

Mike Thelen assumes responsibility for all sales. Specific sales assignments were appointed, as follows, to refine customer service. Adam Steinbuck has taken charge of all Home Center, Programs and Specialty Sales. California Distribution Sales will be led by Sam Patti. Mill Direct Sales and Distribution Sales outside of California will be led by Don Dye, Jr.

“These changes reflect careful consideration of our customers’ needs in alignment with our resources and capabilities,” said Bob Mertz, CEO.

The Mendocino Family of Companies includes Allweather Wood, Humboldt Redwood Co., Humboldt Sawmill Co., Mendocino Forest Products, Mendocino Redwood Co. 

In aggregate Mendocino Companies owns 440,000 acres of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C013133) certified timberland, constitutes the largest waterborne wood treater in the Western USA, and is the largest producer of Redwood lumber in the world. Humboldt Sawmill produces large timbers and custom cuts in Redwood and Douglas Fir for “program” business.  Additionally, Mendocino Companies owns and operates a 25-megawatt biomass Cogen plant and the largest wood pellet plant in California.
