Hotel Indigo was the site of the recent Western Wood Products Association (WWPA) Annual Meeting in Vancouver, WA.

An evening welcome reception opened the event, followed the next day by a full day of activities. Paul Jannke, principal, lumber, Forest Economic Advisors, kicked off the morning at the industry buffet breakfast.

That was followed by the speaker session, which included:

•Thomas Deluca, Dean, College of Forestry & Professor of Forest Soils, Oregon State University
•Mark Corrao, Ph.D., P.H., NMI/BGS – Owner/CIO, University of Idaho, adjunct facility
•Dennis Becker, Ph.D., Dean, Professor of Natural Resource Policy, University of Idaho, College of Natural Resources.

An industry dinner followed by a board of directors meeting closed the event.

Western Wood Products Association, headquartered in Lake Oswego, OR, represents lumber manufacturers in the 12 Western states and Alaska. The largest lumber association in the region, WWPA provides service covering over 8 billion board feet of annual Western lumber production.

WWPA provides services to Western mills in three areas: quality assurance, technical services and market services. Member mills have access and can guide Association activities in all three service areas. WWPA also provides nonmember quality assurance services, including grade inspection, heat-treating, remanufactured wood, and glued products.
