Boiler And Welding Industry Veteran Manages Solid Fuel Sales
Cliff Hurst
Cliff Hurst is the solid fuel sales manager at Hurst Boiler & Welding Company, Inc. in Coolidge, GA. Products offered by the company include boilers and energy systems such as firetube, watertube, package, hybrid and solid fuel boilers in addition to thermal heaters and equipment to support their boiler systems-feedwater systems, blowdown separators, deaerators and more. They sell their products globally.
Unique services provided by the company are custom engineering, design, aftermarket support and environmental solutions, which include their biomass boilers and other renewable energy systems. Other value-added services offered consist of integrated controls, automation, energy audits and efficiency upgrades for older systems.
Cliff has been with Hurst Boiler for 20 consecutive years since graduating college, and he has worked in the boiler industry for over 25 years. His career at Hurst began at age 12, pulling parts for jobs, managing inventory and sweeping floors in the warehouse. After high school, he joined the road crew and steadily advanced through the company. He has served in his current leadership role for the past four years.
He has been married to Melissa for 10 years and has one son. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and going on adventures with his family.
Hurst Boiler is a member of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, the Association of Energy Engineers and the Biomass Thermal Energy Council.

Idaho Timber Markets Pine And Cedar Boards
Dane Finney
Dane Finney was recently promoted to Sales Manager at Idaho Timber, headquartered in Meridian, ID.
Finney is handling sales for two of Idaho Timber’s facilities located in Weiser and Troy, Idaho. The Weiser plant manufactures ¾-inch Pine boards in 1×2 – 1×12 2’-12’ lengths, in both high and low grades, 7/8-inch Cedar boards and fence pickets in various grades. Idaho Cedar Sales in Troy, ID, offers Cedar split rail fencing.
Finney has been in sales for over a decade before joining Idaho Timber and the forest products industry. “I joined Idaho Timber because I admire the culture, align with the vision of leadership and believe in the company,” Finney said.
Finney graduated from Sandpoint High School, in Sandpoint, ID, in 2008 and later continued to higher education, graduating from Boise State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Human Resource Management.
In his spare time Finney enjoys dirt biking, snow biking, shooting and all types of outdoor recreation. He and wife, Annie recently welcomed their new baby Allie and are enjoying life as new parents!

Humboldt Sawmill Welcomes Matthew Slack
Matthew Slack
Humboldt Sawmill Company, located in Scotia, CA, has hired Matthew Slack as their product sales line manager. Humboldt Sawmill is a manufacturer of Redwood and Douglas Fir. Slack’s office is located in Ukiah, CA.
In his position, Slack manages mill-direct sales for both Humboldt Sawmill Company and Mendocino Forest Products Company. This includes new market development, sales and inventory control for a diverse mix of products, from 2×2 balusters up to 12×20 timbers. Slack and Jason Faulkner, vice president of Mill Sales, are traveling throughout the U.S. reintroducing the company’s premium Redwood and Douglas Fir product lines to new and existing customers alike.
Slack started at Agwood Mill & Lumber at the age of 20, and worked his way through the mill, starting as a chain puller and a forklift driver. He worked almost every position in the mill. He then went on to learn sales and eventually took on a lot of the program business and larger customers for Agwood. He also worked as Agwood’s plant manager, gaining responsibility for the entire sawmill, log yard and maintenance. When Agwood merged with Conrad Forest Products Slack shifted his focus to production and maintenance and gained a seat on the board of directors for Conrad Forest Products.
Slack earned his high school diploma from Redlands Adult School in California and studied at Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa, CA.
Slack enjoys camping and hunting, as well as spending time in nature. He is also a member of the Black Bart Hoo-Hoo #181.
He has been married to Laura Sparso for 17 years and has two sons, an 11 and 16-year-old.

Delta Forestry Group Markets Cedar, Hemlock, Douglas Fir Internationally

Richard Jiang is a sales representative at Delta Cedar Specialties, part of the Delta Forestry Group, located in Pitt Meadows, BC, and manages lumber sales into the Asian market. Delta Forestry Group is a sawmill and lumber remanufacturer of value added products that markets to North America, Europe and Oceania. The company offers green or kiln-dried, rough or surfaced Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, Hemlock and Douglas Fir in grades Clear, Shop and Better, Tight Knot, Standard and Utility and in thicknesses ranging from 1-inch to 12-inch.
Delta Forestry Group has integrated their timber-to-lumber process by sourcing logs, precise milling and cutting, and remanufacturing and delivering consistent on-grade products.
Jiang has been in the forest products industry for 17 years, where he started in logistics. Before joining Delta Cedar Specialties, Jiang was a sales representative for Sunbury Cedar, a retail company and former part of the Delta Forestry Group. He has been with the company for 12 years and has been in his current position for the last three years.
In his free time, Jiang enjoys hiking, swimming, playing soccer and gardening. He has been married to his wife Helen for 23 years and has two daughters.
