What’s Up With Southern Cypress

The Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association (SCMA) members and promotion sponsors recently gathered for the association’s Mid-Year Meeting at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The event was held in conjunction with the International Woodworking Fair.

During the two-day event, members and promotion sponsors convened to hear updates on the SCMA’s promotion campaign, previewed upcoming projects, discussed association business, planned future meetings, and heard an update on the Real American Hardwood Coalition’s work to promote and provide education on domestic hardwoods to consumers and design professionals. The prior night, attendees gathered for a networking reception and dinner to catch up with industry colleagues—new and old.

Speaking of upcoming projects, the SCMA recently partnered with Home Improvement and Repairs magazine on an outdoor project. The do-it-yourself feature will show how to build a durable grill table out of Cypress in print and online. Keep a lookout for updates.

The SCMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Cypress building products to design professionals and consumers. To learn more, visit www.CypressInfo.org. And follow the SCMA on Instagram and Twitter at @cypress_info, and on Facebook at @southerncypress.

And if your company is engaged in the manufacture, processing, or distribution of Cypress building products, and is interested in joining, email member-services@cypressinfo.org to learn about membership.
