Roxboro, NC—Talbert Building Supply, headquartered here, an independent, family-owned lumber and building materials dealer has announced its plans to acquire Poindexter Lumber Company of Clemmons, NC. The acquisition will be the fifth Talbert branch, joining locations in Roxboro, Durham, and Asheboro, NC, and Clarksville, VA. The closing was scheduled for November 15.

Founded in 1926, Poindexter Lumber Company is a fourth-generation lumber and building materials dealer servicing custom builders, remodelers, and retail customers in the greater Winston-Salem market. It is led by third and fourth-generation owner-operators Tom and Chris Poindexter. Both Tom and Chris Poindexter will continue in essential transition and leadership roles as consultant and general manager, respectively, for the Clemmons location.

“We are excited to join the well-established group at Talbert Building Supply,” stated Tom Poindexter, president of Poindexter Lumber Company.

“We are grateful to join with another independent dealer to serve our customers, communities, and teams,” said Talbert Building Supply founder and CEO Danny Talbert.
