US LBM Makes A Splash In The Carolinas
Georgia-based US LBM has acquired Builders Supply Company in Lancaster, SC. Serving the greater Charlotte market since 1908, Builders Supply Company offers one of the largest lumber and millwork inventories in the Carolinas, with products ranging from framing material and engineered wood to window and door distribution and install services.
“There is a clear strategic need to serve the national production builder segment in the Charlotte market,” said John Merritt, US LBM Southeast regional vice president. “Bringing Builders Supply Company into our network strengthens our ability to support these customers with both full‑line product distribution and turnkey specialty solutions.”
Greg Gregory, Builders Supply Company President, will continue to run day-to-day operations.
“Builders Supply Company has been in my family for four generations,” Gregory said. “Joining the US LBM family of companies allows us to continue delivering the quality and service our customers have trusted for decades.”
“We’re excited to welcome Builders Supply Company to US LBM,” said US LBM President and CEO L.T. Gibson. “Production builder activity continues to grow south and west of Charlotte, and Builder Supply Company’s location provides a strong position to serve that demand. It also creates an opportunity to extend our reach into Columbia, SC – a key white space market for US LBM.”
LBM-Network’s Jim Enter served as the advisor to Builders Supply Company of Lancaster, during the transaction.
Based in Atlanta, US LBM now has over 450 locations throughout the U.S.

Siwek Lumber Expands In Minnesota
Siwek Lumber, located in Jordan, MN, has acquired the assets of Generations Lumber in Lonsdale, MN, as part of a “strategic expansion designed to strengthen the company’s market presence, inventory capacity, and delivery footprint across the Twin Cities metro area and Southern Minnesota,” per Siwek.
The move, per Siwek, expands its presence in the growing corridor extending south and east from the New Prague market into the Lonsdale and Montgomery areas.
“This acquisition allows us to continue investing in the communities we serve while positioning our company for the future,” said Jason Pranghofer, CEO of Siwek Lumber Jordan. “We’re expanding our inventory, increasing our delivery and yard capacity, and improving our ability to support customers across a wider geographic footprint while maintaining the service standards our customers expect.”
Siwek Lumber says it has extended opportunities to employees of Generations Lumber as part of the transition process. Team members have already begun touring Siwek facilities as discussions continue regarding future roles within the organization.
“As a fourth-generation family business, we believe strongly in serving rural communities and maintaining the relationships that have defined our company for more than 93 years,” said Samantha Siwek, chief administrative officer. “Growth for us is not just about adding capacity — it’s about continuing to deliver dependable service and maintaining a long-term commitment to the markets we call home.”
The acquisition comes during a leadership transition for the company. Dave Siwek currently serves as president and will transition into the role of chairman of the board following his retirement later this year.
Founded in 1933, Siwek Lumber Jordan has remained family owned through four generations.

Brown Lumber Builds Truss Momentum In Alabama
Brown Lumber & Building Supply has completed its 250th truss package since opening a new roof and floor truss manufacturing facility in Columbiana, AL. The company is ahead-of-schedule for its 30,000 square foot facility, following a $5 million capital investment.
The plant currently employs 20 workers and is on pace to produce around 2 million board feet of product by the end of 2026. Brown Lumber says it expects to add 25-50 positions in coming years as additional production shifts continue to expand and come online.
The facility serves builders across the southeast United States, with a heavy focus on the central Alabama region, including projects in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Pell City, Gardendale and Huntsville.
The Columbiana plant, per the company, gives Brown Lumber a “vertically integrated offering”— lumber supply, design support, and component manufacturing from a single source. Brown says most builders in central Alabama are currently limited when trying to source trusses in the area, adding freight cost and lead time to every project in a period where speed and reliability are more important than ever.
“Four months in, we’re running ahead of where we thought we’d be,” said Andrew Brown, President of Brown Lumber & Building Supply. “Previously, builders in central Alabama have been waiting 4-8 weeks for trusses from local and out-of-state suppliers. We’re delivering ours in as fast as a couple of days, and that’s the difference between a project staying on schedule and falling behind.”
“This has been an exciting project for the team at Brown Lumber. To be able to bring this technology to Columbiana and Shelby County has created more skilled manufacturing jobs for our people here, provided our partner builders with more efficient and effective lead times and high-quality truss builds, and happier home and business owners. It’s been a win all the way around. It is only the beginning, and we are only scratching the surface of future success for everyone.”

Ganahl Expands In SoCal
Ganahl Lumber Company recently acquired the assets and real estate of Nichols Lumber. Since 1958, Nichols Lumber has been a cornerstone of the Baldwin Park community. Today, as it partners with Ganahl Lumber, the company enters a new era of growth and opportunity. This transition not only strengthens the business but also provides Nichols employees with a new opportunity and a long-term home within the Ganahl Lumber family, ensuring the same commitment to service and community for years to come.
Unlike the recent trend of consolidation by large corporations, Ganahl remains a family and employee owned, independent entity. This acquisition ensures that Nichols Lumber will continue to operate with the agility and personal touch that only independent ownership can provide.
Ganahl described the deal as another significant investment by Ganahl and is representative of its commitment to its mission statement which is to contribute to the success and profitability of the professionals and property owners who use its products and services.
The company added: “We have had significant customer feedback that while we are currently able to ship materials quickly and accurately to jobsites all over Los Angeles County, adding a second well-located, contractor-oriented will call facility to the San Gabriel Valley was needed to complement our customer’s business.”
