Reed Joins Cardin Forest Products Sales Team

South Pittsburg, Tennessee—Lewis Reed recently became a hardwood lumber salesman for Cardin Forest Products, located here. Reed sells hardwood lumber nationally and overseas. Cardin manufactures 22 million board feet per year of Appalachian species in 4/4 through 8/4, both grade and industrial lumber. Species include Ash, Hickory, Poplar, Red Oak, Walnut and Cherry, and White Oak only in rift and quarter sawn 4/4. Cardin is a sawmill with dry kilns, a planer, a Walnut steamer and container loading. Cardin is a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association and the American Hardwood Export Council.

Reed started working in the lumber industry more than 40 years ago at the Loggers, Inc. sawmill in Clay City, IN. He graduated from the NHLA inspection school in the 70th class in 1979.

“Working in the hardwood business has been a great experience, and I appreciate the help from all the hardwood companies, customers, friends and family along the journey,” Reed stated. “We plan on doing our best at Cardin Forest Products in the years ahead in a constantly changing market.”
