Green Bay And LSLA Team Up For Winter Event
Lambeau Field facilities in Green Bay, WI, was the site recently for the annual winter meeting of the Lake States Lumber Association (LSLA).
A full day of speakers was scheduled after an event-opening reception was held on the previous night, which welcomed 151 attendees.
Among the topics and some speakers were these:
- The Current Market and Outlook for U.S. Hardwood Exports, Michael Snow, AHEC
- Phyto Sanitary Update for Export; Food Export Assoc. of the Midwest & USA Northeast; ALICE in Dairyland
- Hardwood Federation Update, Dana Lee Cole
- Legislative Updates and WI DNR Updates
- Real American Hardwood Coalition, John Gehringer, Devereaux Sawmill and Jim Maltese, Stella-Jones
- Hardwood Market Report, Andy Johnson

LSLA’s Education Board also met. The day ended with a banquet, which included presentation of awards, such as the Carl Danielson Scholarship, the Lou Chicquette Scholarship and the Al Andersen Memorial Award.

The LSLA board of directors also convened.
Incorporated in 1983 to provide representation to a broad cross-section of individuals and business organizations involved in the timber industry, the Lake States Lumber Association’s membership of over 140 members represents 18 states and one Canadian Province. The Association’s primary objective is to provide leadership and education to ensure the sustainability of forest resources. This objective is achieved by a network of committees and volunteers.

In a joint effort with other organizations including the Great Lakes Timber Producers Association, Hardwood Federation and the National Hardwood Lumber Association, Lake States Lumber Association actively lobbies state and federal legislatures on pertinent issues affecting the lumber industry.
