Czar Floors, based in Huntingdon Valley, PA, has firmly established itself as a premier designer and producer of hardwood floor medallions, borders, custom inlays, marble medallions, parquet flooring and herringbone patterns. Recently honored as the 2023 recipient of the National Wood Flooring Association’s (NWFA) coveted Floor of the Year award, Czar Floors marks a remarkable milestone as a 10-time winner in this prestigious category.
Every year, Czar Floors purchases approximately 1 million board feet of high-quality hardwoods including Ash, Maple, Beech, Cherry, Basswood, White Oak, Walnut and a variety of exotic species. This selection fuels an extensive collection of decorative flooring products, featuring hundreds of medallions in diverse sizes, styles and materials. The company prides itself on offering a vast array of floor borders and intricate parquet and herringbone patterns, ensuring that each customer can find the perfect fit for their unique aesthetic.

Partner Edward Tsvilik attributes the company’s ongoing success to a culture of innovation and an unyielding resolve to embrace challenges. “We’re not afraid of challenges,” he asserted. “Our 2023 Flooring of the Year project was particularly intricate, one that many were hesitant to undertake. However, we possess the experience, equipment and skill set necessary to meet even the most demanding challenges. Our actions speak for our capabilities, distinguishing us from others in the industry.”
Czar Floors has evolved into a one-stop shop for both professionals and homeowners seeking distinctive wood and marble flooring. Collaborating with architects, designers and decorators on prestigious projects worldwide, the company offers exclusive semi-custom artwork that allows customers to personalize pieces to match their unique tastes. “We’re committed to maintaining high industry standards,” Tsvilik explained, emphasizing a philosophy centered around quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Founded in 2004, Czar Floors is family-owned and operated, dedicated to providing a seamless experience for customers needing anything from restoration of old wood floors to installing stunning new hardwood options. “Our seasoned professionals guide customers through every step of the process,” Tsvilik noted. “With our years of industry experience, we have the knowledge and professionalism to ensure the best results.”
At the heart of their operations is state-of-the-art technology. Czar Floors utilizes advanced computerized routers to produce exquisite wood inlays, ensuring that each piece fits seamlessly. This CNC routing process not only guarantees precision but also minimizes waste as every element is designed with careful specifications using AutoCAD software.
The allure of Czar Floors’ wood inlays lies in the natural grain and color variations of the materials. Craftsmen hand-assemble each detail of the final product, meticulously inspecting every piece for quality assurance. “Precision is paramount,” Tsvilik explained, emphasizing that this commitment to detail is echoed throughout every aspect of their operations.

A significant portion of Czar Floors’ offerings features rift/quartersawn White Oak, which Tsvilik highlights as an excellent choice for radiant heated floors and concrete installations. “Its straight grain creates a defined, contrasting pattern, making it ideal for parquet, herringbone and chevron designs,” he added. “The stability of rift/quartered boards minimizes seasonal gaps and buckling, rivaling engineered floors while retaining the longevity of solid wood.”
Czar Floors doesn’t just excel in wood; their stone inlays division employs powerful waterjet equipment to cut marble slabs into precise pieces, ensuring each inlay is hand-assembled and packaged with care. All products are sealed in plastic and custom-packaged to safeguard against damage during shipping, ensuring that quality is maintained from factory to installation.

When asked about the origin of the company’s name, Tsvilik offered, “We wanted a name that encapsulated our philosophy—treating our customers like royalty and delivering the finest floors and services in the industry. Our initial design inspiration came from the unique inlay wood floors we observed in imperial palaces worldwide and we take pride in the distinctive designs we create.”
Czar Floors stands ready to provide unparalleled service in every aspect of hardwood flooring, whether through sanding and refinishing existing wood floors in various stain colors or custom installing and finishing new hardwood floors to exact specifications. Their large stones, reaching up to 72 inches, are crafted as single pieces for easy installation, using a lightweight yet sturdy aluminum backer that simplifies handling and shipping.

Czar Floors has been entrusted with high-profile projects, including a significant renovation of Disneyland’s exclusive Club 33, which debuted on July 18, 2014. Tsvilik is also particularly proud of the moving flooring in the Rainbow Room, a restaurant in Rockefeller Center in New York City, NY, which is featured in the iconic lunch scene of the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
With an eye on the future, Czar Floors has developed an innovative online custom floor design application. “This tool enables users to create a complete floor plan using our design elements, including medallions and borders and estimate project costs—all from their browser,” Tsvilik explained, with plans to expand features and design elements in the near future.
