Jason Gobel

Jason Gobel is the vice president of NWH’s Global Business Units, leading global sales, lumber procurement, and marketing.

NWH is a hardwood lumber manufacturer producing 320 million board feet annually throughout the Appalachian, Glacial and Western regions of the United States.  NWH carries 14 North American hardwood species, several tropical hardwoods, plywood, and pallet stock.  The company operates over 40 manufacturing and warehousing facilities, while offering various value-added services for both lumber and panels. These services include surfacing and ripping, as well as various sorting capabilities.  

Jason has held numerous positions during his 19-year career with NWH, including general manager, product marketing director, region sales manager, and over 10 years as part of the domestic and international sales teams. Jason is a graduate of Slippery Rock University in PA, with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys golfing and rooting for his hometown Pittsburgh sports teams. He has been married to his wife McKala for 18 years and has two daughters, Olivia and Raylee.

Kris Palin

Bingaman & Son Lumber, Inc. located in Kreamer, PA, a manufacturer known for their hardwood lumber products, recently announced the hire of Kris Palin as their new salesman for the Southeast United States. The company exports to Turkey, the Middle East, Europe (excluding France, Benelux and the United Kingdom), Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Portugal, South Korea, Japan and Quingdao, China.

Bingaman & Son Lumber handles hardwood species such as European Birch, Alder, Ash, Cherry, Poplar, Birch, Hickory, Ash, Basswood, Hard and Soft Maple, Beech, Walnut and Red and White Oak. In addition to selling lumber, the company offers strips, finger jointing, dimensions, scantlings, butcher blocks, thermal modification and glulams.

Palin joined the Bingaman & Son team with experience in the forest products industry since January of 1989, when he started out as a lumber inspector for the Buena Vista, VA, sawmill Georgia-Pacific Corp, in addition to holding a sales position within the same company. Palin also worked in sales at JT Shannon Lumber Company in Horn Lake, MS and Allegheny Wood Products, which was based in West Virginia before its closure in February of 2024.

Between the years of 1978 – 1982, Palin attended Bristol Tennessee High School; college at East Tennessee State University from 1983 – 1988, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and in the fall of 1988, he joined the National Hardwood Lumber Association’s Inspector Training School.

His interests outside of work include reading, watching movies, the Pittsburgh Steelers, college football, the Atlanta Braves and spending time outdoors participating in hiking and running.

Tim Wooley

Tim Wooley is the director of sales and marketing for North America for Pollmeier, which is headquartered in Tualatin, OR.

Pollmeier offers European Beech at six and eight percent moisture content kiln-dried, in surfaced thicknesses of 4/4 through 12/4. They also offer random width, ripped to width and components, LVL in Spruce for construction applications and LVL in Beech for furniture applications. They do not offer rough. Among their unique products, they produce moulding and glued-up panels, while selling to North America, Canada and Mexico.

Wooley has worked in the forest products industry for 37 years, and has been with Pollmeier for 20 years and has held his current position for seven years. His first job in the industry was working as a lumber inspector, among a variety of other positions such as: dry kiln operator, concentration yard manager, sawmill manager and salesman.
