Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry Utilizes Oak, Cherry, Poplar, Maple
Ed Bauer is the purchasing supervisor at Woodharbor Custom Cabinetry in Mason City, IA. Bauer monitors all lumber and plywood needs for the company and leads the purchasing team.
Woodharbor manufactures custom and semi-custom kitchen and bath cabinetry. The company purchases over 500,000 board feet of domestic hardwood lumber annually in Red and White Oak, Cherry, Poplar, Hard and Soft Maple, Hickory, Aspen, Alder and Walnut in thicknesses of 4/4 and 5/4 and in grades Select and Better, No. 1 Common, FAS1F, Premium Frame and Superior. Woodharbor also offers captive back construction, a superior sanding process, special care with hand-wiped stains and an innovative plug-and-play lighting system.
Bauer has been in the forest products industry for 38 years with his first job being an assistant manager of a lumberyard. He has spent 30 years in purchasing and materials management. He has been with Woodharbor for 21 years, 19 of which he served as the materials manager and has been in his current position for two years.
In his free time, Bauer enjoys reading, hiking, traveling and spending time with his family. He has been married for 44 years and has two children and four grandchildren.

Drawer Box Specialties Focuses On Walnut, White Oak and Mahogany
Judy Villa is the plant manager and lumber purchaser at Drawer Box Specialties Inc. (DBS) in Orange, CA. She has been with DBS for six years and in her current position for four years. Villa began her career eight years ago on a production line packing futons.
DBS is an end-use manufacturer whose products include high-quality drawers, drawer boxes, cabinets, slab doors and components, as well as value-added processes like rips, crosscutting, boring, contouring and edgebanding. They buy 576,000 board feet in 4/4 thickness upper grade hardwood lumber in species like Walnut, White Oak and Mahogany. DBS is also a member of the Forest Stewardship Council.
Villa has experience with purchasing, inventory, production, shipping/receiving and safety coordination. She graduated from Temescal Canyon High School in Lake Elsinore, CA and later Norco College, California State University Fullerton and California Coast University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Harris Hardwoods Specializes In Kitchen And Bath Mouldings And Components
Michael (Mike) J. Katke is in lumber procurement and yard management at Harris Hardwoods in Foreston, MN. He has 35 years of forest industry experience with 10 years at Harris and two years in his current position.
Harris Hardwoods is an end-use manufacturer that makes hardwood components and mouldings for kitchens and baths. They purchase over a million board feet of 4/4 to 8/4 Walnut, Red and White Oak, Hickory, Cherry, Birch, Poplar, Beech, Ash and Alder in No.1 Common and Select and Better. The company offers custom mouldings, cut to size frame stock and panels. They are members of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association and the Wood Component Manufacturers Association.
Katke graduated from Ogilvie High School in Ogilvie, MN and later from both a two year program at Central Lakes Community College in Brainerd, MN for natural resources technology and St. Cloud Technical College in St. Cloud, MN for supervisory management classes. He has been married for 41 years to his wife Deloris and together they have three kids and one grandchild. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and other outdoor activities.
