Leibering Dimension Inc.: Purchasing 1.5 Million Board Feet Of Green Lumber Annually

Brandon Leibering is the operations manager/partner at Leibering Dimension Inc. (LDI), located in Ferdinand, IN. LDI manufactures hardwood flooring, paneling and cabinet/furniture dimension products. LDI purchases approximately 1.5 million board feet of green lumber annually in primarily Hickory, but also Red and White Oak, Poplar and Hard Maple.

Among his operation duties, Leibering has a keen knack for moulder quality. A company representative noted that he is a true craftsman, displayed by his confidence, dedication and attention to detail. In addition to operations, Leibering also manages lumber purchasing.

Leibering started his career in 2008 as a green chain lumber stacker and later that year, went on to graduate from the NHLA Inspector Training School where he finished second in his class.

Leibering and his wife, Illia, have two children Owen and Emma. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and riding side-by-sides.

Leibering Dimension is a member of the Indiana Hardwood Lumbermens Association, National Hardwood Lumber Association, National Wood Flooring Association.

The Keim Company: Family-Owned Since 1911

Ray Yoder is director of rough lumber operations at The Keim Company, based in Charm, OH.

Keim is a fourth-generation, family-owned business founded in 1911. What began as a small operation has grown into a 50-acre campus in Charm, OH, featuring more than 700,000 square feet of retail, office, warehouse and millwork production space and employing 660 people.

In addition to its flagship Charm location, Keim has expanded to Columbus, Baltic, and Mt. Hope, OH. A custom door manufacturing facility is currently under construction at the Baltic location.

The Millwork Operations department purchases approximately 10.5 million board feet of Walnut 4/4-16/4; Ash, Cherry and Soft Maple 4/4-12/4; Birch, Grey Elm, Hickory 4/4-8/4; Poplar and Hard Maple, 4/4-16/4; Red and White Oak, 4/4-10/4; Beech 4/4 and 5/4; Sassafras 4/4, and many exotic species. All lumber is kiln-dried 6 percent to 8 percent, and most is hit and miss planed.

The company’s main manufactured products are mouldings, CNC routed items and custom doors, along with glued panel products and many specialty products. Keim is a member of the Wood Component Manufacturers Association.

Yoder started out in the Hardwood business as a lumber sticker, then became a kiln operator. He has been with Keim Lumber for 23 years, mostly as a lumber buyer and management. He and his wife, Ruth, have one son and three daughters. Yoder enjoys spending his time with family, fishing and hunting.

Mark Hall Cabinetry: Founded 31 Years Ago By Company Owners

Stephanie Hall is owner/designer at Mark Hall Cabinetry, located in Columbia, MO. She closely works with customers to design their spaces and select their materials.

Mark Hall Cabinetry is a manufacturer of custom cabinetry for every room of a home, including the kitchen and bath. Additional product offerings include commercial casework, custom furniture pieces and custom hardwood counter tops. The company purchases approximately 140,000 board feet per year of Birch, Poplar, Knotty Alder and Clear Alder, Quartersawn White Oak, Red and White Oak, Maple, Cherry, Walnut and some teak, all in Select grade.

Value-added offerings include full design services and installation for local clients, as well as full customization for every project.

Mark Hall Cabinetry is an industry member of the National Association of Homebuilders and the Home Builders Association of Columbia.

Hall founded Mark Hall Cabinetry 31 years ago alongside her husband, Mark. It was her first position in the forest products industry. Her husband learned cabinet making from his father as a teenager and was working as a cabinet salesman shortly before the couple was married and founded the company. The company has 30 full-time employees.

Hall is a graduate of Parkway North High School, located in St. Louis, MO, and attended college first at Williams Woods University, located in Fulton, MO, then the University of Missouri in Columbia. She serves on the board at the Home Builders Association of Columbia.

In her spare time, Hall enjoys watching/attending sporting events at her local university and painting. Her favorite sports team is the St. Louis Cardinals. Stephanie and Mark have been married 31 years and have five children and six grandchildren. One of their favorite family activities is hosting large family dinners.
