Reimer Hardwoods Markets 2.5 Million Board Feet Of Hardwood Lumber
Colin Reimer is the president and CEO of Reimer Hardwoods Ltd., in Abbotsford, BC, and handles the lumber purchasing for the company. Reimer Hardwoods is a wholesale distributor that purchases nearly 2.5 million board feet of hardwood lumber annually. Species that the company offers are Hard and Soft Maple, Red and White Oak, Walnut, Poplar, Cherry, Alder, Ash and Birch, as well as tropical species. These species are offered in 4/4-12/4 thicknesses.
Reimer Hardwoods has a millwork facility that enables them to offer surfacing (S2S), straight-line rip and multi-rip.
Reimer’s first job in the forest products industry was 47 years ago when he was a part-time laborer in Reimer Hardwoods’ warehouse. Since then, he has held every other job at the company from tailing the planer to now being president and CEO, a position that he has held for 20 years.
Reimer attended the National Hardwood Lumber Association’s Hardwood Lumber Grading Short Course at the McKeever Environmental Learning Center in Sandy Lake, PA. He attended WJ Mouat Secondary School in Abbotsford, BC, and studied at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Science.
Reimer believes in community service and has served on many organizations’ Board of Directors over the years and is currently chair, serving on eight boards. He also enjoys snorkeling, scuba diving and underwater photography. He and his wife Sharon, of 36 years, enjoy maintaining their collector cars.
Reimer and his wife have three children and four grandchildren. His son, Brody, has taken up the family trade and has been with the company for over 10 years and is now an outside sales representative.
Reimer Hardwoods is a member of Pacific Coast Wholesale Hardwood Distributors Association and Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada.

Iola Lumber Co. Offers Red And White Oak, Hard And Soft Maple
Dylan Farr is vice president at Iola Lumber Co., a distribution/concentration yard located in Millville, PA. Farr has oversight of various aspects of the business, among them sales and lumber purchasing.
Iola Lumber purchases 500,000 board feet of lumber annually of Red and White Oak, Hard and Soft Maple, Hickory, Walnut, Cherry, Poplar and pine in softwoods.
All species are purchased in grades No. 2 Common and Better and in thicknesses of 4/4, 5/4 and 8/4.
Iola offers retail and wholesale of kiln-dried rough lumber.
Farr has been in his present position for 13 years and began his career in the forest products industry at the young age of nine years old. He has experience throughout the whole processing chain of the lumber – from purchasing, grading, drying, re-grading and selling. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree (BSBA) in marketing and a BSBA degree in information technology management from Bloomsburg University. He has also completed a Penn-State extension course on kiln drying and has received on-the-job training for daily kiln operations over the past 11 years and in 2015. Additionally, Farr completed a National Hardwood Lumber Association short course on lumber grading.
He has been married nine years to Mackenzie Farr. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and hobbies/crafting items with his hands.

Danner’s Cabinet Shop Inc. Manufacturing Custom Cabinets
Troy Danner oversees all operations as president of Danner’s Cabinet Shop Inc., located in Ramsey, MN.
Alder, Cherry, Oak, Poplar and Maple (Select and Better, 13/16, kiln-dried, surfaced and straight-lined, one edge) make up the 134,000 board feet purchased yearly by Danner’s Cabinet Shop. Products manufactured include custom cabinets, mantels and laminated tops.
In addition, the company offers assistance in the areas of installation, finishing, design and consultation.
Danner has worked at Danner’s Cabinet Shop for 35 years and bought the company in 2014. His first job in the forest products industry was at an entry level cabinet shop at the age of 17. He graduated from Anoka High School, Anoka, MN, in 1988, and attended Mankato State University until his graduation in 1992.
Danner’s Cabinet Shop is a member of the Business Network International and the Better Business Bureau, as well as having received multiple Remodeler’s Showcase Awards.
