Dylan Gessini is the lumber purchaser at One Source Millwork, located in East Syracuse, NY.

One Source Millwork is a manufacturer of architectural woodworking, custom cabinets and mouldings, and purchases 120,000-150,000 board feet of Cherry, Red Oak, Poplar, Hard and Soft Maple and Walnut, in all grades and thicknesses, annually. The company offers premium finger jointing, custom CNC knife grinding, abilities for curved mouldings, and pristine finishing. One Source Millwork is a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute.

Gessini’s father Anthony is one of the owners of One Source Millwork and has been around the family business his entire life. Gessini graduated high school, early in 2021 and came to work fulltime for the company right after high school. He started working on the floor producing the mouldings and cutting the knives, but has now stepped into management and has held his current position as operations manager for over a year now.

Jeff Ortner

Jeff Ortner is a buyer for Elipticon Wood Products Inc. in Kimberly, WI. In his job, he purchases lumber, shop supplies and office supplies. Elipticon is an end-use manufacturer, purchasing over one million board feet of lumber per year. Elipticon carries Poplar, Red and White Oak (Select and Better), Cherry (Standard and Premium), Black Walnut (Standard and Premium), Hard and Soft Maple, cedar and pine (Radiata and Knotty). They handle 4/4-8/4 thicknesses.

Elipticon offers custom wood products such as stair treads and handrails, headers, bar rails and curved products such as arches and curved jambs, coupled with high quality standard moulding and millwork. The company also will run and stock specific profiles that a customer uses on a regular basis. Elipticon recently completed a move to a 110,000 square foot facility, roughly triple the size of their former facility. In addition to the move the company has purchased an additional moulder capable of running 12-inch stock and an automated rip and chop saw line. Elipticon is a member of the Wood Products Manufacturers Association, Architectural Woodworking Institute, Window and Door Manufacturers Association, Wood Component Manufacturers Association and Forest Stewardship Council.

Ortner began his 7th year at Elipticon in December. He has held his current position since 2019. His first job in the forest products industry was running a skidder for a small logging operation. At Elipticon, Ortner began by driving a delivery truck. He then moved into the shop and ran a moulder until taking over his current position. He attended both the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and North Central Technical College. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, reading, darts, snowmobiling and deer hunting. He and his wife of five years, Donna, have two sons, three daughters, two step-daughters, three grandsons and three granddaughters.

William Perry

William Perry is a lumber purchaser at Powell Valley Millwork, where he is responsible for all lumber procurement required by the company’s Clay City and Jeffersonville, KY facilities.

Now a part of the CMPC group of companies, Powell Valley Millwork is a volume manufacturer of Poplar and Radiata pine products supplying customers across North America with primed interior trim and millwork that purchases an annual volume of approximately 20 million board feet of green 4/4, 5/4 and 6/4 No. 1 Common and No. 2A Common Poplar lumber. With two facilities located in Kentucky, the company employs over 220 employees supplying a range of products including primed interior mouldings, shutter components, picture frames, stretcher bar frames, finger joint blanks, S4S dimension boards and shavings for equine bedding.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Kentucky, Perry gained 25 years’ experience in the forest products industry after starting out as a lumber stacker. He also is a graduate of the National Hardwood Lumber Association Inspection School’s 119th class. After graduation, he worked as a lumber inspector for some of the largest lumber companies throughout the Mid-South and Southeast. Perry eventually traveled to Germany and other Western European countries to teach NHLA-based lumber inspection for a period spanning over five years.

Perry also served as International Consultant with NHLA focused in the European Union. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Forest Industries Association and served as President of the Ohio Valley Lumber Drying Association.

In his free time, Perry enjoys riding his Harley, polishing his German language skills and traveling the European Union.
