HMA’s board of directors, officers, past presidents and NextGen Leaders Council members also convened for the association’s Fall Board of Directors Meeting.

The next day, HMA members traveled to tour Pike Lumber Company Inc., in Akron, IN; Cole Hardwood and Indiana Dimension Inc., in Logansport, IN; Graber Lumber & Mulch and Campbell Road Sawmill in Spencerville, IN, and Wible Lumber in South Milford, IN.

HMA noted the following about each stop along the tour route:

Pike Lumber Company is a primary manufacturer of kiln-dried hardwood lumber. They are Indiana’s largest manufacturer and distributor of quality kiln-dried lumber, focusing on full truckload, mixed truckload, and container lumber sales throughout the U.S. and around the world.

Cole Hardwood is a premier supplier of high-quality hardwoods, specializing in a wide range of species—including Red and White Oak, Ash, Hard and Soft Maple, Poplar, Walnut, Hickory and Cherry. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, they provide the industry with top-notch
materials that meet the highest standards.

In 1990, Indiana Dimension Inc., IDI, was founded by Milt Cole and Roy Rentschler as a sister company to Cole Hardwood, their next-door neighbor. They saw a need for a quality-focused and service-driven hardwood components producer that manufacturers could outsource to with confidence.

Graber Lumber & Mulch is a family-owned business that spreads operations between two sawmills that focus on products such as pallets and mulch.
