Eau Claire, WI—McDonough Manufacturing Company, headquartered here, recently hired Travis Shepherd to work in Senior Technical Sales & Support. A graduate of Haywood Community College’s sawyer program in North Carolina, Shepherd brings with him 20 years of experience in the operation, maintenance and managing of sawmills.

Shepherd was previously the General Manager at High Country Lumber and Mulch in North Wilkesboro, NC. Starting out in the lumber industry as a loader operator, Shepherd has worked his way up through the ranks, and prior to joining Team McDonough, was running one of the most modern and efficient Hardwood mills in the country. Shepherd is a very capable sawyer and understands sawmill machinery from top to bottom, spending years learning how to get the most out of the equipment he was responsible for, and always looking for ways to improve his operation. With his breadth of hands-on experience, Shepherd is a tremendous asset to Team McDonough and will help to continue to improve McDonough’s full suite of products and service for years to come, according to a company press release.

In his spare time, Shepherd likes to spend time at the baseball diamond watching his three boys play baseball. He can be reached at tshepherd@mcdonoughmfg.com.

Since 1888, McDonough Manufacturing Company has focused on providing durable sawmill machinery, while providing the efficiency and speed required by the modern sawmill. From edgers to resaws, band mills, gangs and carriages, McDonough offers a complete line of products for a company’s sawmill needs.
