NAWLA Events Are in Full Swing 1

Now a few months into 2023, North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) events are in full swing.
NAWLA was delighted to host over 200 attendees in Palm Desert, California, this past March for the 2023 Leadership Summit. The three-day program highlighted current trends, best practices and insights from industry leaders and provided attendees opportunities for peer-to-peer networking.

Specifically looking at this year’s robust education offerings, session speakers focused on timely and impactful topics such as multiple generations collaboratively working together, the role that culture plays in creating a successful work environment, freightonomics and the future of transporting building materials, policy changes, and real estate trends. The education lineup also featured a panel in which three industry experts discussed recent developments in carbon offsets, including forest sequestration in many parts of North America and the world, as well as shared their thoughts on how the market for carbon credits is developing and could impact the forest products industry.

NAWLA would like to extend a special thank you to 2023 Leadership Summit Chair Dan Semsak (Murphy Company) and the members of the NAWLA Leadership Summit Committee for all their work on this year’s event. We would also like to thank our sponsors for their generous support. We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2024 Leadership Summit taking place March 10-12 at the El Conquistador Tucson in Tucson, Arizona.

Looking ahead to the fall, we invite you to save the date for the 2023 NAWLA Traders Market. Taking place Nov. 8-10 in Columbus, Ohio, this unique event will focus exclusively on the lumber supply chain and allow attendees to enjoy hours on the tradeshow floor, experience dedicated networking time and connect with NAWLA members and industry representatives from across the United States.

Registration for the event will open later this summer on our website (nawla.org/events/tradersmarket).

Those looking to exhibit or be a sponsor can reach out now to our sales manager, Jim Conlon, at jconlon@nawla.org.

We hope to see you later this year and that you will take advantage of all the exciting opportunities our centrally located and accessible Traders Market host city has to offer, including its local restaurants and greenspace. Those interested in attending can learn more about Columbus at www.experiencecolumbus.com.
