Getting Back To Business
I’m happy to report that another successful HMA National Conference and Expo is in the books. It was great seeing HMA members, suppliers and all industry stakeholders in Knoxville, TN. While things were certainly different this year as far as timing and venues are concerned, I’m thankful for everyone who was able to spend a few days with us in the Volunteer State. I’m also encouraged by the feedback that was received regarding our learning session topics and expo floor. There also were plenty of opportunities for networking with industry colleagues—new and old.
Now that NatCon 2025 is in the rearview mirror, it’s not too early to mark your calendars for HMA’s 2026 National Conference and Expo, which will take place at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville, in Jacksonville, FL, March 25–27. Later this month, we’ll hold a NatCon planning call to discuss challenges facing the industry and toss around ideas for session topics. If you’d like to be part of our planning committee, feel free to reach out, your input is greatly appreciated and helps to ensure we’re delivering an informative and valuable event.
I also can share that plans are being made for our Fall Regional Meeting, which will take place on the East Coast, September 15–17. Regional Meetings are one of the most valuable HMA member perks. Only open to members, promotion sponsors, and 2025 NatCon exhibitors, they’re an excellent opportunity to see new technology, equipment and solutions in action; exchange information; and catch up with colleagues. All the details can be found online at www.HMAmembers.org.

Speaking of our member website, it has a fresh, new look! Launched in June, the site features a much-needed facelift, improved navigation, member resources and all the news and updates HMA members have come to expect. If you haven’t yet taken a look, head on over to www.HMAmembers.org. And I’d be happy to hear your feedback!
I’m also happy to report that we’ve launched a new CEU for architects and designers at the American Hardwood Information Center, www.HardwoodInfo.com, titled “American Hardwoods Enhance Health, Productivity, and User Comfort.” Available as an on-demand course through America Training Solutions, the CEU discusses the latest research on how biophilic designs and materials create healthy, more productive environments for occupants; reviews case studies showcasing the aesthetics and enhanced comfort provided by hardwood interiors; identifies the performance characteristics and qualities of American hardwoods; and helps design professionals determine how hardwood interiors line up with the latest green building certification programs.
We’re also continuing to produce monthly editorial content to promote solid hardwoods at the American Hardwood Information Center. These articles regularly reach millions of consumers across the country, inspiring home renovation projects, furniture upgrades and even holiday gifts. Interested in learning more?
