NEWALD, WI– Cleereman Industries, headquartered here, recently installed a new Cleereman stave mill primary break down line at Robinson Stave Co. in East Bernstadt, KY.
Cleereman Industries, along with Cleereman Controls, did all of the engineering and controls and worked with Eagle Machinery, who did the secondary equipment line that included optimized resaws and rip lines.
The new Cleereman equipment included a heavy duty log deck feeding debarker, Dual Head 848 debarker with Cleereman electric controls, dual overhead truck loading system, log haul with backstop, Cleereman/ MDI metal detector, log haul with dual kickers, heavy duty 84-inch chop saw/merchandising grading cut up line, log ladder, stave log deck, stave block log loader, custom stave mill halving and quartering line with Cleereman controls, and a Cleereman Controls stave mill package.
“This is the second stave mill that Cleereman Industries and Cleereman Controls has installed for Robinson Stave Co. in 2020,” Vice President Paul Cleereman said. “We would like to thank Troy, Jim and everyone at Robinson Stave for their continued business and trust in our equipment.”
Cleereman Industries started building stave mill equipment in 2019 when the Brown Forman Co. asked the company to devise a better solution for primary log break down. “They wanted us to try to increase the yield they were getting out of their expensive White Oak logs and reduce the number of workman’s comp claims they were having,” Cleereman recounted. “After several engineering trips and mill visits, we came up with a totally different concept than what other equipment manufacturers were doing. We found that if we could grade the log after it was debarked and before it was cut into stave lengths and also being able to pin the heart of the log perfectly every time before it was cut in half, we could see huge gains in yield.”
Cleereman Industries has been developing and manufacturing sawmill machinery for more than 66 years.
