SLMA Sets Sights On Annual Conference After Successful Spring Event

The Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association (SLMA) hosted its 2026 Spring Meeting & Expo recently in Sandestin, FL, bringing together industry professionals for a successful and engaging event.

With a strong turnout of approximately 230 registrants, the meeting provided valuable opportunities for connection, education and collaboration. Throughout the event, attendees participated in a variety of networking activities, including the welcome reception, fundraiser dinner, expo hall receptions, and networking dinner—each offering meaningful opportunities to strengthen relationships across the industry.

A standout feature of this year’s event was the expo hall, which hosted more than 50 exhibitors. The space enabled attendees to connect directly with suppliers and service providers while exploring products and solutions designed to support business growth and innovation.

The general session featured industry updates from a lineup of knowledgeable speakers, including Gary Sheehan of Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP; Jeff Miller of the Treated Wood Council; Simon Hyoun of the Softwood Lumber Board; Bill Wasden and Katy Willis of Burr & Forman LLP; Dale Bracken of National Assessment; Melissa Sinor of Marsh & McLennan Agency alongside Chris Williams of Hand Arendall Harrison Sale; and Pete Stewart of ResourceWise. Their insights offered valuable perspectives on current challenges, trends and opportunities within the lumber industry.

Overall, the 2026 SLMA Spring Meeting & Expo reinforced the association’s commitment to delivering impactful programming and fostering a strong, connected industry community. Events like this play a vital role in keeping members informed, engaged, and positioned for success.

SLMA now looks ahead to the 2026 Annual Conference, taking place July 22–26 at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. SLMA events are exclusive to members of the association. To learn more, please visit slma.org.
