Missouri Hardwood Products: Different From The Rest

Missouri Hardwood Products: Different From The Rest 1
When taken care of, a hardwood floor can last over 100 years! Missouri Hardwood Products’ best sellers are Red and White Oak.

The Beginning

Missouri Hardwood Products, located in Brighton, Missouri, has been a part of the national production of American hardwood flooring for decades. Beginning in 2003, owner Robert T. Kenney purchased this sawmill and has since turned it into an excellent manufacturing center of solid hardwood flooring. Although Southwest Missouri is a fairly small market in general, Missouri Hardwood Products has done particularly well, selling to local contractors as well as flooring stores and distributors across the United States.

Our Mission

At Missouri Hardwood Products our mission begins with the customers. The goal is to produce high quality hardwood flooring, and deliver our best product each and every time. We use this mission along with excellent communication to make sure our customers get the product they are looking for. These qualities take lots of effort, so we really appreciate the crew we have. All of this starts with the classic American Hardwood that we purchase.

How It Starts

The beginning of the process when making hardwood flooring for us starts with local sawmills. In the mid-2000s, Missouri Hardwood Products converted from milling our own logs to buying milled green lumber from local sawmills. Purchasing from local sawmills ensures that we get real local American hardwood. We mostly purchase Red and White Oak because those particular species are some of the most popular options in the hardwood flooring industry. Every once in a while, we will run some specialty species, such as Maple or Hickory, but we mostly stick to the main two, Red and White Oak.

Manufacturing makes the difference at Missouri Hardwood Products, which offers hardwood flooring across the United States.

Manufacturing

This wood goes through a long process of manufacturing. Starting with stacking the lumber evenly and putting it in our kilns. The kilns are designed to dry the wood at regulated temperatures in order for the drying process to be even. When regulating the temperature, this helps the boards to stay sturdy and not crack. After around 3-4 weeks in the kiln, the wood goes into the planer and the rip saw in order to get down to the right size. It then goes into our finish line, where we have a molder that puts a tongue and groove on each board. Our finish line also, cuts ends on the boards, and we grade the flooring out and send it down to the warehouse.

Red Oak Flooring

One of our two best sellers is our Red Oak flooring. This flooring has a timeless look that can carry on for generations. When taken care of, a hardwood floor can last over 100 years! Red Oak can be used in many different areas, and will add a nice touch to any space. We offer many different sizing and grades. From 2 ¼” to 5”, rustic to clean with no blemishes we can get it done!

White Oak Flooring

White Oak flooring is our other best seller. While many people think they are the same wood with just a different color, they are actually quite different in general! One reason is that White Oak is quite a bit harder than Red Oak. This can make a difference when a customer is choosing what type of flooring they should get. White Oak tends to hold up a little better, but it takes more effort to stain.

What sets us apart from the rest?

Missouri Hardwood Products is different from the rest! We are highly involved with our local community. We are involved with many local contractors in our area, and we advertise locally! In a small area, we feel it is best to be involved with the community. We also believe in using locally sourced lumber, so when our customers purchase our products they know that it comes directly from the heart of America.
