WHA Focuses On Future During Annual Event

The Western Hardwood Association (WHA) recently hosted its annual convention in Vancouver, WA, at Heathman Lodge.

This year’s theme was “Growing The Future.”

The multi-day event included golf, networking opportunities and guest speakers. Among those speakers were: Dana Lee Cole, executive director, Hardwood Federation; Michael Snow, executive director, American Hardwood Export Council; Ben Deumling, owner, Zena Forest Products; John Holte, manager, Roseburg Forest Products; and Dana Spessert, chief inspector, National Hardwood Lumber Association, among others.

Founded in 1955 to assist Western U.S. hardwoods to a position of prominence in the manufacturing of fine furniture, cabinets and pallets, WHA’s membership consists of sawmills, manufacturers, re-manufacturers, pallet producers, wholesalers, landowners, timber owners and service organizations, such as freight companies, truckers and consultants.
