Allen Kellogg

Allen Kellogg is owner and president of Kellogg Hardwoods Inc, located in Bethel, CT.

As owner and president of Kellogg Hardwoods, Allen handles many aspects of daily operations, including purchasing, sales, customer service and overseeing production. He started the company alongside his father in 1992 and has spent 33 years in the industry, with previous jobs as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator.

Kellogg Hardwoods manufactures custom mouldings and wide plank flooring. The company purchases approximately 400,000 board feet of various domestic hardwoods and softwoods per year, including American Cherry, Ash, Birch, Hickory, Maple, Red Oak and Eastern pine, among others. Grades include FAS, Select, Face and Better, No. 1 Common and No. 2 Common and Better character, KD furniture grade material, 4/4 through 16/4, all stored in the rough.

In addition, Kellogg Hardwoods offers wholesale hardwood lumber. Value-added services include custom milling, stair treads, S4S and S3S milling for walk-in customers.

Kellogg Hardwoods is a member of the National Wood Flooring Association.

Allen enjoys hunting, trapping, hiking, wood-turning and is an instrument rated private pilot. Allen has been married to his wife Karine for 21 years and they have a 13-year-old daughter Maria.

Aurora Timberland Markets 22 Million Board Feet Of Hardwood Lumber

Clayton Miller

Clayton Miller works in sales and purchasing for Aurora Timberland in Alexandria, ON, the hardwood purchasing and wholesale lumber distribution unit of Alexandria Moulding.

In addition to overseeing the sales for Aurora Timberland he is also tasked with the purchasing of kiln-dried hardwood lumber for both the Alexandria Moulding hardwood programs and Aurora Timberland’s distribution inventory.

The company purchases 22 million board feet annually. It carries an inventory of Poplar (FAS and No. 2 Common) 4/4 through 8/4, Red Oak (FAS) 4/4 through 8/4, Basswood (Select and Better) 4/4, White Hard Maple (FAS) 4/4, Walnut (FAS) 4/4, Soft Maple (FAS) 4/4, and Cherry (FAS) 4/4. All lumber is kiln-dried, rough.

For over 30 years Aurora Timberland has been servicing the wholesale needs of secondary manufacturers. In 2019 the company began shipping lumber to Vietnam which has been met with great success. In June of 2022, Aurora Timberland expanded its lift lot distribution into New York State and Pennsylvania. The company has since expanded its lift lot distribution within Canada and now serves all eastern Canada on company trucks.

Miller is the fifth generation of his family to work in the lumber business. His first job was feeding a planer at R.A. Miller Hardwood’s mill in North Tonawanda, NY, while he was in high school. Then, while attending college, he spent summer breaks at home learning other aspects of the business. Miller is a graduate of Niagara University, from which he received a bachelor’s degree in American history and an MBA in international business marketing. In addition to his work responsibilities Miller is a board member of the North American Forest Foundation, president of the Alumni Association at St. Francis High School (Buffalo, NY) and sits on the School Board at the same institution.

Miller, who has worked in his current position for eight years, is married to Heather and has a daughter Avery and son Clayton. In the fall, Miller enjoys cheering on the University of Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish and the Buffalo Bills. He and his family live in Lewiston, NY.

Aurora Timberland is a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association, New England Lumbermen’s Association and Penn-York Lumbermen’s Club.

Kenneth M. Spitulski

Kenneth M. Spitulski is CEO and owner of KenCraft Company Inc., located in Toledo, OH.

Spitulski’s duties include lumber purchasing, and overseeing day-to-day operations and management of the company, duties he shares with his son, Tracy Spitulski.

KenCraft Company is a manufacturer of stock and custom mouldings, as well as retailing 3/8 by 1.5-inch Red Oak flooring, and manufacturing other millwork. The company purchases 150,000 board feet per year of Basswood, Birch, Red and White Oak, Cherry, Hard and Soft Maple, Poplar and Walnut (FAS 4/4-8/4). KenCraft offers six thicknesses of Baltic Birch plywood and various imported species of hardwood.

The company operates a 12,000-square-foot retail and warehouse facility that offers random width and length hardwood, thin-stock lumber and dust collector sheet metal fittings for small millwork shops

Spitulski founded KenCraft Company in 1965 as a remodeling contractor, building garages, cabinets and furniture, as well as refurbishing old homes.

Spitulski has been married for 60 years to Virginia. They have one son and one daughter, one grandson and three granddaughters – one of which works at KenCraft with the family.
