Comanche, TX–Higginbotham Brothers & Company, based here, has announced its expansion south to Liberty Hill, TX.

The newest HBC location, about 30 miles northwest of Austin, will be a full-service lumberyard and hardware store that opens this fall.

Higginbotham Brothers began in late 1880 when JM Higginbotham and his family moved from Water Valley, MS, to Dublin, TX, and shortly afterward, opened a general mercantile store with a brother. Today, the company operates about 40 lumberyards, hardware stores and building centers throughout Texas.

Depending on the location, Higginbotham Brothers stores carry 1x and 2x lumber, including Cedar and Redwood, treated lumber, sheathing, beams, moulding and millwork, its website says.
