Cheryll Bowers
On December 19th, 2023, Cheryll Kay Bowers made her way into Heaven at the age of 64 surrounded by her loving family. The next morning, her spirit burst through the clouds in a beautiful pink and yellow winter sunrise.
Bowers was born on July 8th, 1959 in Lodi, OH, to Dorothy Ann Hunter and Howard Sidney Weaver. When she was 10 years old, the family packed up and moved to Oregon. She attended Gresham High School. Bowers married Rick Thompson and had three children. She gained two more children with the marriage of Jeff Bowers.
Bowers was an extremely hard worker – owning and operating multiple businesses, one of those being Bowers Forest Products. She was a devoted mother, attending every sporting event and was always her kids’ biggest cheerleader. She enjoyed Taekwondo in which she earned a second degree blackbelt. She also loved volleyball, fitness and traveling the world – always chasing the sunshine.
Without a doubt, she was the most distinguished coffee connoisseur. However, her favorite thing was her grandchildren. She was so proud and enjoyed every minute with them.
She was a faithful friend. She never wasted a day. She was the brightest light. She left behind a great legacy that will always be remembered and celebrated. She was everything to so many.
To know her was to love her.
Bowers is survived by her children: Mallorie Henker, Stacey Wilwerding and Grady Thompson. She is also survived by her siblings: Retha Warren, Lynn Iggulden, Kimberly Vaylon, Lori Cook and her brother, Howard Weaver Junior.
Additionally, she will be remembered by numerous grandchildren, as well as her boyfriend Gary Lundgren and her two beloved dogs, Sophie and Bella.
A memorial service will be held Saturday January, 6th 2024 at 2:00pm, at The Ainsworth House in Oregon City, OR.
Arrangements, cremation and a memorial plaque were facilitated by Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary & Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland, OR.
