Welcome 2025: A Year of Growth and Opportunity With NAWLA 1

NAWLA’s Executive Management Institute Class of 2023.

2025 is officially here, and your friends at the North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) would like to wish you a Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed your holiday season and are excited to kick off another year of growth and collaboration with us. We have a lot to look forward to in 2025!

On the heels of a successful 2024— including the launch of NAWLA Academy, our new Learning Management System (LMS), and another great Traders Market— we are excited to build on this momentum. Here is a glimpse into what’s ahead in 2025.

Emphasis on Professional Development Opportunities

Opportunities for Growth at The University of Innovative Distribution (UID) From March 10–13, NAWLA members can attend the University of Innovative Distribution in Indianapolis, IN. This intensive four-day program addresses the unique challenges and opportunities within the wholesale distribution industry, offering senior leaders an exceptional opportunity to grow professionally. This collaborative effort between the Association Education Alliance (AEA) and Purdue University’s Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation offers six specialized education tracks. Participants will gain targeted insights to enhance leadership, operational effectiveness, and professional growth.

Executive Management Institute (EMI) Returns This Spring

NAWLA is excited to once again host its highly acclaimed Executive Management Institute (EMI) in partnership with one of the top-ranked business schools in the world, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Taking place from April 28 to May 2, this rigorous program is designed to empower both up-and-coming leaders and seasoned senior leaders in the forest products industry. Over five days, participants will gain valuable insights into making strategic decisions and driving innovation within their organizations, blending time-tested approaches with innovative business practices. Through engaging case studies, interactive lectures, dynamic readings, and more, attendees will develop the tools needed to help their company thrive in an everchanging landscape. Attendance is limited to 30 participants to ensure a personalized, immersive learning experience.

Expand Your Knowledge with NAWLA Academy’s New Online Course

In late 2024,  NAWLA launched a brand new online course in NAWLA Academy, The Foundation of Forest Products. This self-paced course offers a comprehensive look at the industry, from forest management to the shipment of finished goods. Ideal for both newcomers and seasoned professionals, the course features interactive modules that provide a deeper understanding of the forest products industry.

NAWLA members can save with bundle packages, ideal for onboarding new employees and enhancing the skills of experienced team members. Managers can track employee progress through NAWLA Academy, making it a versatile and valuable resource for professional development.

More Opportunities Ahead in 2025

In addition to these leadership and professional development opportunities, NAWLA will host Spring and Fall Wood Basics, Regional Meetings throughout North America, and Traders Market with registration opening later in 2025. Be on the lookout at nawla.org for more information and new opportunities to connect with NAWLA in 2025!
