84 Lumber Accelerates Expansion Plan
Eighty Four, PA – 84 Lumber, located here, was founded in 1956 and currently operates 310 facilities which include 234 stores, 14 component manufacturing plants, 28 engineered wood product (EWP) centers and 34 door shops, making it the largest privately owned building materials supplier in the U.S. The company is set to open new facilities and make improvements to 54 existing locations to increase its market share by the end of 2023.
84 Lumber plans to open new stores in Stockton, CA, Denver, CO and Greeley, CO. The company will also be relocating existing stores to larger facilities in Morgantown, WV and Sarasota, FL. They also plan on opening component plants in Winter Haven, FL, Columbia, SC, Boise, ID and Atlanta, GA. The EWP facility in Atlanta, GA is being relocated to Cartersville, GA and new centers will be opened in the New Jersey and Boston markets. There are also plans to open a new door shop in Denver, CO.

Mirax Group To Acquire Lyle Forest Products
Abbotsford, BC – The Mirax Group, located here, has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Lyle Forest Products (Lyle) located in Chilliwack, BC.
Lyle Forest Products is a premier value-added lumber facility dealing with Pacific Coast Hemlock and Western Red Cedar. For the past 50 years Lyle has been producing only the highest quality of paneling, mouldings, S4S finishing boards and engineered wood products. Lyle’s reputation is known worldwide.
The acquisition will put the Mirax Group one step closer to becoming a more vertically integrated forest company in British Columbia. The new operation will be run as Lyle Specialty Forest Products Ltd. and their sister-company Jazz Forest Products will be the sole distributer for Lyle Products.
The completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2023.

US LBM To Divest From Feldman Lumber, Rosen Materials and Wallboard Supply
Buffalo Grove, IL – US LBM, located here, announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell three of the company’s operating divisions, Feldman Lumber, Rosen Materials and Wallboard Supply Company and their subsidiaries Coastal Roofing Supply, Eastern Wallboard Supply and Richardson Gypsum to L&W Supply. L&W Supply is an operating unit of ABC Supply.
US LBM acquired Feldman Lumber and Wallboard Supply in 2014 and Rosen Materials in 2015. In total, these divisions and their subsidiaries currently operate 42 locations in 12 states and primarily sell and distribute interior building materials, including wallboard, acoustical and steel framing, as well as fire and pressure treated lumber and kiln dried dimensional lumber.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory review and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2023.

Koopman Lumber
Adds A New Location
In Cape Cod

Whitinsville, MA – Koopman Lumber, located here, is building its first store on Cape Cod with plans to open in April.
The 8,759-square foot store in Dennis, MA will feature a window and door showroom, a 9,030-square foot floor drive-thru lumberyard with Auto-Stak racking and two warehouse buildings totaling 4,759-square feet. The new location is expected to employ approximately 20 people.
Koopman Lumber’s 11 MA locations include three full-line lumber, hardware, paint, lawn and garden stores in Whitinsville, Uxbridge and North Grafton, one lumber, hardware, paint and kitchen design center in Sharon, a full-service paint store in Milford, lumber yards and kitchen design centers in Hudson, Andover Fairhaven and Indian Orchard and distribution centers in Uxbridge and Sutton.

Beacon Expands In Texas
Herndon, VA – Beacon, located here, continues its strong expansion run in Texas. The company has announced that its latest moves include the opening of greenfield locations in Baytown and suburban Fort Worth.
