Koopman Lumber Expands

Koopman Lumber recently opened its first location on Cape Cod.
The property includes a large 9,030-square-foot drive-through lumber yard with auto stack racking and two spacious warehouses totaling 4,759 square feet. Delivery is available throughout the Cape and all New England, Koopman Lumber said in published reports.

The company’s 12th location, situated in Dennis, MA, also features an 8,759-square-foot store that has has a kitchen and bath showroom, a window and door showroom, and retail space for standard and seasonal hardware, power tools, grills and decking.

The building supplies and hardware dealer first announced in January that it would open on Cape Cod.
In addition to serving homeowners and do-it-yourselfers, Koopman has extensive experience working with contractors, remodelers and professional builders. The new location employs approximately 20 people.

Founded by Peter T. Koopman in 1939, Koopman is now co-owned by its third generation with part of the fourth generation of the Koopman family in key company positions.

Koopman Lumber’s 12 Massachusetts locations include three full-line lumber, hardware, paint, lawn and garden stores in Whitinsville, Uxbridge, and North Grafton; one lumber, hardware, paint, and kitchen design center in Sharon; a full-service paint store in Milford; lumber yards and kitchen design centers in Hudson, Andover, Fairhaven, Indian Orchard, and Dennis; and distribution centers in Uxbridge and Sutton.

Morgantown, WV Welcomes 84 Lumber

84 Lumber, based in Eighty Four, PA, has opened a new, relocated store and yard in Morgantown, WV.
The facility includes treated lumber, roofing, trim, windows, doors, and a new kitchen and bath design center.

The new facility is located on more than 10 acres and currently employs 32 store associates. The privately-held prodealer said it plans to hire additional salespeople and sales support.

McCoy’s Moves Forward In Lockhart

McCoy’s Building Supply recently broke ground on its next retail location in Lockhart, TX.

McCoy’s first announced the new location after it purchased 12.8 acres of land in Lockhart in June 2022.

McCoy’s, based in San Marcos, TX, has more than 3,000 employees. The prodealer and farm and ranch retailer operates multiple stores, three distribution centers and two millwork facilities in several states.

Sherwood Lumber Acquires MAWL

Sherwood Lumber, a lumber and building materials distributor located in Melville, NY, has acquired Middle Atlantic Wholesale Lumber (MAWL).

MAWL is a regional supplier of lumber products and expands Sherwood Lumber’s footprint with service capabilities.

Based in Baltimore, MD and founded in 1977 by Jerry Kolker, MAWL serves customers primarily along the East Coast.

New York Welcomes Rugby Expansion

Rugby Architectural Building Products, headquartered in Concord, NH, opened a new Metro New York customer service center in Greenvale, NY this summer, according to published reports.

The new 79,000-square-foot warehouse and customer service center is located less than three miles from the Long Island Expressway. It carries a large inventory of decorative and raw panels, hardware, mouldings and other quick delivery merchandise to manufacturers of kitchen cabinets, furniture, store fixtures and specialty wood products.
