San Juan Capistrano, CA–The city council here recently approved selling a 17-acre, city-owned property to Ganahl Lumber Co., moving the company a step closer to completion of a new lumberyard.

The proposed project will include a lumberyard with 15 structures, a hardware store and space for possible development of two drive-through restaurants, as well as a gravel parking lot for nearby car dealers to use for long-term vehicle storage.

The council also approved environmental findings, a flood-plain land-use permit, and a tentative tract map.  After the new lumberyard is built, Ganahl Lumber plans to relocate from its current Capistrano Beach location.

Headquartered in Anaheim, Ganahl Lumber has 10 facilities in Southern California. Its product offerings include Douglas Fir, Redwood, Cedar, Pine, Radiata Pine and Sugar Pine. More information is available at www.ganahllumber.com.
