The second day included a Missouri Logging Council business meeting and a general education session. The afternoon included the Log A Load Golf Scramble for those who wished to participate, followed by an evening reception and dinner to close the event.

Auctions that were held during the event benefited MFPA Political Action Committee and Log A Load for Kids. According to the MFPA website, MFP PAC was established to compliment the association’s legislative programs. The purpose is to financially support candidates and causes that are beneficial to industry interests. The auction held at the summer meeting is a big fund raiser for the committee. Log A Load for Kids is MFPA’s charity where loggers and wood products businesses donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount, to a nearby Children’s Miracle Network affiliated hospital to be used in treating ill and injured children. MFPA holds fundraising events to supplement donations to the hospitals.
