In Memoriam – Rémi Cadrin
Rémi Cadrin passed at the age of 85.
A visionary, mentor and deeply dedicated man, Cadrin devoted nearly 70 years to the hardwood lumber industry. Throughout his remarkable career, he became widely respected not only for his leadership and knowledge but also for the kindness, generosity, and integrity with which he treated everyone around him.
Born in St-Vallier-de-Bellechasse, QC, Cadrin graduated from the Duchesnay grading school in 1958 and went on to leave a lasting mark on the industry he loved. His distinguished leadership included serving as past director of the National Hardwood Lumber Association and past president of the Montreal Hardwood Club, and C.A. Spencer Inc.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Cadrin built far more than a company – he built lasting relationships and a professional family grounded in hard work, respect and loyalty. Even after officially retiring more than 20 years ago, he cherished staying connected with the many colleagues, partners and friends he met throughout his journey. His legacy and the values he leaves behind will continue to inspire many for years to come.
Cadrin was predeceased by his beloved wife, Suzanne Brissette. He is survived by his son Claude, daughters Lynne and Maryse, as well as two grandsons and six granddaughters.
May he now rest in peace.
The visitation was scheduled for June 6, 2026, followed by a chapel service at Steve L. Elkas Funeral Complex in Sherbrooke, QC.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke Foundation.
Everyone who knew Rémi Cadrin is invited to share this so that former colleagues, partners and friends may be informed and join in honoring his memory.
