An official response has been announced by the government of China regarding shipments of imported wood logs from the United States. Logs will be subject to quarantine checks when entering the ports of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Xiamen, etc. The same rules apply to shipments of apples from the United States.
Samples from shipments that are suspect will be taken to laboratories for inspection and the remaining products will be quarantined until test results are completed. Chinese customs officials previously allowed shipments to continue through customs while the tests were underway.
